Extenuating Circumstances
Extenuating circumstances, or ECs as they are more commonly known, are defined in the Academic Regulations as “circumstances that are outside a student’s control which may have a negative impact on a student’s ability to undertake or complete any assessment so as to cast doubt on the likely validity of the assessment as a measure of the student’s achievement.”
If you feel your ability to undertake or complete any assessment has been negatively affected by circumstances that are outside your control you should consider submitting an application for Extenuating Circumstances. For advice on whether you should apply, and full information on how to apply, the student guidance booklet is available on the Advice and Counseling site.
The final deadline for submitting the application is 4pm on Thursday 7th June 2012 and the application form can be downloaded here or from the link on the right.
