Undergraduate courses
Our course-unit system gives maximum flexibility to tailor your degree to suit your needs within a clear framework of progression from year to year. Students make their course choices with the assistance of their adviser who helps them to structure their degree programme to suit their interests.
Single-honours students have to select eight units each year, and joint-honours student four units from each discipline. Courses taught over both semesters are counted as two units, those for a single semester, one.
Our students also have access to a large number of courses taught in other Colleges of the University of London, resulting in an even more impressive range of choice. The courses available from this page indicate the wide range and diversity of what we have to offer at Queen Mary, although not all the courses run in any one year.
Students are advised to take eight level one units in their first year, a minimum of six level two units in their second year and a minimum of four level three units in their third year.
From this page you can find out more about course details, teaching and learning and careers.
