Open Days
The department aims to interview all suitable candidates whose applications are received in good time. Attending an interview will give you the opportunity to tour the college and facilities, as well as giving you the chance to meet with current students and members of staff.

The department is also open during the College Open Days and Campus Visit Days.

You are welcome to visit the Department, the main office is located in room 2.38 on the Second floor of the Arts Building, during our opening times of Monday - Friday 10am and 12.30pm and 2-4pm. While we cannot guarantee that a tutor will be available, the Undergraduate Administrator or Departmental Administrator will be able to answer any general questions you may have about admission to the department and study for our degrees.

Taster Days
The Department of History participates in the London Taster Course programme. This is a series of taster days for lower-sixth form students from all over the UK. The programme is designed to provide students who are thinking of applying to go to university the opportunity to experience life as a university student, and to understand more about specific subjects at degree level.

The Department of History Taster Day usually takes place in late April. The Programme is administered centrally by the University of London. Brochures and online application forms are usually available to download by the end of January.

If you are a school or College and would like to receive a brochure by post please email the London Taster Course Programme: tastercourses@london.ac.uk

Previous years' events have included lectures and small group sessions covering topics such as Gender in Medieval Europe, Witchcraft, Renaissance Art, the Russian Revolution, the Great War, Fascism, the Holocaust and the Cold War, as well as discussions of methodologies (such as Oral History and Film History).
