How to apply

Students are normally required to apply through UCAS. Further information on the application process and deadlines are available on the main college site. The Department of History’s standard entry requirement is 360 UCAS points with at least an A in A level History. The Department does not accept the A levels Critical Thinking or General Studies.

From these pages you can access further information regarding your UCAS application to the History Department. If you choose to apply to the Department, we will first consider your UCAS application and may then invite you to an Open Day or an interview. When making your choice of universities, it’s really important to have visited them. You need to make sure that this is a place where you can be content throughout the three years of your degree: we strongly encourage you to come to see us if at all possible. We welcome applications from mature students and from outside the British educational system. We recognize that these applicants, in particular, may need advice and support when completing their UCAS forms. If you have questions, would like advice about how we regard specific qualifications, or want to talk about how best to present yourself on your application, please do get in touch.
