I joined the History of Modern Biomedicine Research Group in the School of History at QMUL in 2010, as research assistant to Professor Tilli Tansey.

With a background in archaeology, I was a research assistant at the University of Southampton (1987-1990) and at the Wellcome Trust Centre for the History of Medicine at UCL (formerly the Wellcome Institute) from 1991 to 2010.

Research

My research has mainly focused on the history of the neurosciences, co-editing the transcripts of Witness Seminars held by the History of Modern Biomedicine Research Group. These included: drugs affecting 5-HT systems; migraine; brain banks; and seasonal affective disorder (SAD). Other edited volumes have covered subjects such as bovine TB, air pollution, and rural medicine.
