David Brooks's main interests lie in the fields of modern British and modern French political history. His books on Victorian and Edwardian politics include The Destruction of Lord Rosebery and The Age of Upheaval: Edwardian Politics 1899-1914. He has written articles on Gladstone, with, most recently, a contribution to Gladstone Centenary Essays. He is happy to supervise research students on the broad area of nineteenth- and early twentieth-century British political history.
