Scholarships and funding

Undertaking an MA can be a large financial commitment. In recognition of this, Queen Mary, University of London offers a range of competitive bursaries and scholarships for postgraduate students.

Funding is available to Masters students from the UK and European Union and International students.

QMUL-Chevening Scholarships and Partner Awards


Any discipline

1500 available across the UK

Full tuition fees, travel to and from UK, arrival allowance, cost of visa application, excess baggage allowance, grant for thesis, monthly personal living allowance

Overseas from a Chevening-eligible country

Marshall Scholarships


Any discipline

1 across all QMUL master’s courses

University fees, cost of living expenses, annual book grant, thesis grant, research and daily travel grants, fares to and from the US

US citizens

Fulbright-QMUL Postgraduate Awards


Any discipline

3 (1 per Faculty)

University fees + £14,300 stipend for travel, accommodation, subsistence, etc.

US citizens

Commonwealth Scholarships


Any master’s course, must have developmental relevance.

Several hundred available across the UK

University fees, monthly stipend, other expenses
