The School of History at Queen Mary is one of the largest in London and prides itself on its vibrant and successful postgraduate community, which is supported by postgraduate seminars within the department, and also at faculty level in conjunction with the Learning Insitute.
We offer a flexible MA in History, as well as specialised MA courses in Islam and the West, History of Political Thought and Intellectual History, Paris Studies, Modern and Contemporary British History and the Leo Baeck Institute MA in European Jewish History.
The research interests of the Department are very broad with particular strengths in the fields of medieval and renaissance history, modern and contemporary history, eighteenth-century studies, film history and intellectual history (including the history of political thought).
