Voices from the Old Bailey elicits praise, approbation
Professor Amanda Vickery's BBC Radio 4 radio show, Voices From the Old Bailey, which brings to life gripping Old Bailey court cases from the Eighteenth Century has been generating comment and controversy. The Observer called her "a normal, clever person who tells us things we don't know, in a non-patronising, enthusiastic, useful way" in their review of the first programme, Riots, while the Daily Mail decided that the second, Sexual Subcultures, was on a little too early in the morning.
